Statement: Parliament's Precinct
On his visit to the Parthenon Le Courbusier was effusive, “There is nothing but pure forms in precise relationship,’ it lead to his thoughts of architecture as being ‘the masterly, correct, and magnificent play of masses brought together in light.” I understand this might not be the place to be self deprecating but if I can’t presume to claim ‘correct’ or ‘magnificent’, I can at least claim a masterly play of masses brought together in light. Simplified and stripped of certain emotions all photography is about mechanical and chemical devices aiding in a response to masses in light. I like the French écriture d’ombres, poet Celan’s “netting shadows written by stones.”
